Join the team!

WE’RE HIRING! Full and part time positions available for immediate start – front of house and kitchen opportunities up for grabs! If you are passionate about Penzance and want to be part of a strong team we want to hear from you! Previous experience is helpful although not necessary, however a love for good food, drink, service and hard work are essential. Full job description and how to apply below:

We are looking for either one full time person, or two part-time people to join our team. A full time ‘flexi’ person would work in a flexible role both front-of-house and in the kitchen over 4-5 days a week and the part time roles would be 2-3 days each with one person front-of-house and one working in the kitchen.

To work in the kitchen you must be a very confident home cook and baker or have previous experience working in a professional kitchen and be passionate about creating flavourful and imaginative dishes both savoury and sweet. You must be able to stay calm in a busy environment and work with organization and a clear head to serve food quickly. You need to be able to follow detailed instructions and work to high standards of presentation, both in the food you serve and in keeping the working environment a safe and tidy space.

To work in a front-of-house role you must have plenty of energy and be able to learn detailed systems quickly and thoroughly. You will need to be a natural ‘people person’, and have an informal, confident and respectful nature with customers. You will need to be able to stay calm under pressure, hold lots of information in your head and think on the go. Previous experience working with coffee and using epos till systems is preferred but extensive training can be provided for the right person.

Both roles require someone who can work with speed and attention to detail, is able to communicate effectively as part of a small team and who understands good food and hospitality with an emphasis on sustainabiliy. Understanding working for a small family run business and the quirks that it entails is essential as things don’t always go quite to plan here!

You must be available to work Saturdays and to cover occasional extra shifts last minute as part of the team.  Please note the job role(s) may only be temporary, depending on future Covid restrictions and trade after the festive period. Perks include: coffee, tea and lunch when at work, staff discount when not working, potential to make new friends, talk to interesting customers and feel the warmth of working for an environmentally conscious small business in the heart of Penzance!

If this sounds like you then please email your CV and a paragraph about why you’d love to work at The Honey Pot to: hello@thehoneypotpz.com as soon as possible. Position(s) available to start on Monday 30th November at the earliest, but could start later for the right person.
